HK G28 designated marksman / sniper rifle

HK G28 Patrol and MR762 LRP

Heckler & Koch are producing the German Army’s new DMR, the G28. The G28 is currently available in two variants. The standard configuration has an extended handguard which provides mounting space for advanced optics and night vision. The HK G28 Patrol is styled more like the MR762 LRP, and has a shortened handguard which reduces weight. I’ve noted 2 different stocks on varying G28 rifles, including an HK417 style with the flared cheek weld and a narrower precision model with an adjustable cheekpiece.
The G28 Patrol is a lighter version of the rifle, while the standard G28 is for more precision applications. Both G28 models feature a steel upper receiver for increased accuracy over a lighter aluminum receiver.

The MR762 is a civilian version of the HK417, with some parts made by HK in the US to comply with federal regulations. The LRP, or Long Rifle Package, equips the MR762 with the G28 style adjustable buttstock, and outfits it with a Leupold optic and folding bipod.
